Inês Ferreira de Sousa

PhD Candidate in International Relations at NOVA FCSH, where she is preparing a thesis on the political economy of climate change in Amazonian countries over the past two decades, under the supervision of Teresa Ferreira Rodrigues. Her research interests include Climate policy and governance in Amazonian countries; The international political economy of climate change; Post-anthropocentric politics in the Anthropocene.

Isabel Alcario 

Associated researcher, at IPRI-NOVA since 2005. Isabel is a PhD candidate in Comparative Politics at the Institute of Social Sciences, University of Lisbon, where she is preparing a thesis on authoritarianism and political reform in North Africa.

Isabel Gorjão Santos

PhD Candidate in Global Studies at NOVA FCSH, and is starting a research about social movements and the new forms of mobilization and participation.

Joana Castro Pereira

With a PhD in International Relations from the NOVA University of Lisbon, Joana is Assistant Professor of Politics and International Relations at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto (FLUP), integrated researcher at IPRI-NOVA, and member of the Planet Politics Institute (PPI).

João Cancela

Member of the Member of the executive board and integrated researcher at IPRI-NOVA. Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Studies at NOVA FCSH since 2021. His research interests include Comparative Politics, Democracy, Elections, Political Participation and Political Parties.

João Estevens

PhD candidate in Globalization Studies at NOVA FCSH, where he is preparing a thesis on “Democracy and Punishment: the Democratization of the Punitive Power of the State”, under the supervision of Rui Branco. His research interests include Democratization, State and Punitive Power, Information.

João Gaio e Silva

PhD candidate in Political Science at NOVA FCSH, where he is preparing a thesis on "Filling the Representative Gap? The Populist Politicization of Democratic Representation", under the supervision of Marco Lisi. His research interests include Populism, Political Representation, Political Parties.

João Nunes

João Nunes joined the Department of International Relations at Universidad Pontificia Comillas in January of 2024. Previously (2014-2023), he was a Lecturer and then Senior Lecturer at the University of York, United Kingdom. In York, he also co-directed the Centre for Global Health Histories, a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre.

João Pedro George

Doctorate in Sociology of Culture at the Universidade Nova (Lisbon), was professor at Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas. Author of texts in several areas, with collaboration in collective works.
