PhD candidate in Security and Strategy Studies at NOVA FCSH, researcher at IPRI-NOVA, and holds an MSc in Economics “International Development and Cooperation” from ISEG at the University of Lisbon. Previously served as Economic and Commercial Affairs Consul of Portugal in San Francisco and before that Shanghai, and preformed other roles at the Portuguese Mission to the UN in Geneva and in Madrid.Held several public offices in Lisbon, such as European Funding Manager at the Ministry of Internal Security and Chief of Staff of the Minister of Justice. In the private sector he has worked as a consultant and as journalist. Vice-President of the Executive Board of the Portuguese Council of the European Movement (EU) and a Member of the Supervisory Board of the Portuguese Atlantic Commission (NATO).
