Marta Mucznik is Brussels-based foreign affairs specialist and a Research Associate of the Portuguese Institute for International Relations (IPRI-NOVA). Until July 2021, she served as Advisor to the Portuguese Permanent Representation to the EU on Transatlantic Relations during the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the EU where she represented Portugal at the EU Council’s Working Party on Transatlantic Relations (COTRA). She has extensive experience advising international advocacy organizations, think tanks and government institutions, in Lisbon, Brussels and Washington DC. Her expertise includes EU Foreign Policy, Transatlantic Relations and the Middle East. She also published a bi-monthly column for the Portuguese online newspaper, Observador, where she focused on identity politics and the rise of the far right.
