Major at the National Republican Guard, Professor in International Relations Theory, Strategy, Geography, Internal Security Studies and scientific coordinator at the Military Academy in Lisbon. He has done his PhD in International Relations; MA in Political Science and International Relations; Post-graduate in European Studies and Law and Security at the New University Lisbon (NOVA); Degree in Military Sciences at the Military Academy. Researcher at the Portuguese Institute of International Relations (IPRI-NOVA). Among his main publications are: Portuguese External Politics for CFSP: The Case of East Timor, Mare Liberum, Aveiro, 2012; The Portuguese Presidencies of European Union, Fronteira do Caos, Porto, 2017; “A Theoretical framework of the “internal security” of the European Union”, Nação e Defesa, N.º 146, april, 2017.
