Relações Internacionais (R:I) is a peer-reviewed academic journal established in 2004 and published by the Portuguese Institute of International Relations (IPRI-NOVA) at the NOVA University of Lisbon. An indexed, open-access journal, the R:I recently adopted a continuous publication model and currently publishes two issues per year (June and December). 

The R:I publishes original research articles and academic book reviews. The journal aims to promote theoretical and empirical discussion in the field of International Relations and related areas of Political Science, such as international politics, comparative politics, foreign policy analysis, security and defence studies, strategic studies, peace and conflict studies, international political economy, global governance, international organisations, diplomacy, development studies, area studies, political history, political theory, global justice and international law. All articles undergo a double-blind peer review process. 

The journal is transitioning to the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, with completion expected by June 2026.
