With a PhD in International Relations from the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (NOVA FCSH), Sónia is Invited Assistant Professor at NOVA FCSH and Assistant Professorat Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa, where she is also associated researcher at Observare - Observatory of Foreign Relations. Academic coordinator for TEPSA Academy 2022, she coordinated a research project for the Luso-American Foundation for Development (2016), and participated in the courses "Diplomatic Protocol" of the École Nationale d'Administration in Paris (2008) and "Russia and the contemporary world" of the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Moscow (2003). Sónia holds a postgraduation in "Theory and Diplomatic Practice" from Lusíada University (2004).
