Assistant Professor at the History Department of NOVA FCSH, holds a PhD in Political and Institutional History. Integrated researcher in the Institute of Contemporary History (IHC). Author of several books and articles in the field of Portuguese foreign relations, colonialism and decolonisation, such as Os Despojos da Aliança. A Grã-Bretanha e a Questão Colonial Portuguesa 1945-75 (Tinta-da-China, 2007) and História da Expansão e do Império Português (with J. P. Costa e José Damião Rodrigues, Esfera dos Livros, 2014). Between 2004 and 2008 he was the editor in chief of IPRI’s in-house journal, Relações Internacionais.
